Whether you chose to replace or purchase a new heat-pump, air conditioner or heating system you must ensure that it is an ENERGY STAR qualified unit, furthermore you must meet certain eligibility requirements. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENOCLIMAT AND CHAUFFEZ VERT? (at a glance)
To qualify for Renoclimat, the participant must apply for an energy evaluation which consists of an efficiency advisor that will conduct a thorough visual inspection of your home which include dwellings, duplexes, triplexes and residential buildings with many unit.
The inspection itself can include verification of the location, the interior and external characteristics of the building. The advisor will also conduct a blower door test to determine the EnerGuide rating of your home. Following this the inspector will provide the building owner with a report for the different savings based on the planned eco friendly renovations.
How much can I save through the Rénoclimat program?
Canada Greener Homes Grant
In Québec, registering for the Rénoclimat program is the only way to access the Canada Greener Homes Grant.
Financial assistance from the federal program can be up to $5,000 for eligible projects, but is not added automatically to the assistance provided by Rénoclimat. For each participant, the financial assistance provided by the Rénoclimat program will be adjusted based on the work done and the amounts provided for under the federal program. This way, once both assistances are applied, you will get an amount equal to or greater than what was originally set out in Rénoclimat.
Multiple-unit housing
Do you own a duplex, triplex or multiple-unit residential building? Financial assistance granted under the Rénoclimat program will be higher than for single-family homes.
How much can I save through the Chauffez vert program?
Installation or replacement of an eligible heat pump
The financial assistance for the installation or the replacement of an eligible heat pump is now provided by Hydro-Québec.
